Re: Name 13 different Bay Area venus in one minute...
what I hear in the '68-'70 (and beyond) SF area GD gigs, is how relaxed, at home they are...
no doubt the gigs back East, in La, Canada and elsewhere at that time (up to '71 at the Fillmore East esp.) - the crowds were ecstatic, the energy is way up there.
But, I like the casual asides of the local gigs from then...
I remember the crowds only cheered for St. Stephen, otherwise until the polite applause at the songs' end, whatever they wanted to do was okay with us.
There was the occasional banter back and forth between someone in the aud. and the band locally...
I wish more of that was taped (from 1970 at the Carousel), but some was taped.
I'm only guessing that hypnosis might be a way to unlock buried memories.
I'd really like to try that. One thing, is that I wasn't on mindbenders during the shows of 1970.
The one time I was given something in line before the show, it was a dud.
So that old saying, if you can remember the '60s you probably weren't there, is not true in my case.
But, there are holes in my memory. Yet what I do recall, is very vivid.
